The British Acupuncture Federation (BAF) registered member organisations recognise the importance of a complaints procedures and see complaints as a valuable form of feedback about its services. We are committed to using the information BAF and its registered organisations receive to help drive forward improvements.
This procedure outlines the aims of dealing with complaints and sets out what you as the customer can expect when making a complaint regarding a service received.

Complaints Against a Practitioner
Clients have the right to appeal in the event that they are dissatisfied or unhappy with a treatment or service and the procedure is –
- Where a client wishes to make a complaint against a specific practitioner or organisation the client should first attempt to resolve the matter by a direct approach to the practitioner/team member directly within 48 hours of the incident occurring.
- If the informal procedure has been exhausted, or if it is inappropriate to the circumstances then the complainant can submit a formal complaint in writing to the manager of practitioner’s member organisation.
- If the complainant disagrees with the result of the formal complaint the complainant should utilise the member organisation’s appeal process.
- Once the informal, formal complaints AND formal appeals procedure have been exhausted without satisfaction you can put in a further final appeal to the BAF board by contacting the BAF Administrator.
Complaints About the British Acupuncture Federation
- If the complaint is a direct complaint about the British Acupuncture Federation then please send this to the BAF Administrator.
- If the complainant disagrees with the result of the formal complaint the complainant can raise and appeal with the conduct committee board.
